Koh Phangan Island is to the northeast of Surat Thani, about 20 kilometers from Koh Samui. Its area of 170 square kilometers, or 106,250 rai, is surrounded by several minor islands such as Koh Tao, Koh Tae Nok, Koh Tae Nai, and Koh Ma. Vast plains stretch out on the west coast of the island, while steep cliffs drip to the sea in the east. Koh Phangan enjoys a warm climate around the year. Best time for a visit is from December to March or June to September.

Koh Nangyuan is a small island situated in the Gulf of Thailand not very far from Koh Tao. The largely unspoilt island offers a perfect destination with indescriable beauty of surrounding scenery and underwater coral reefs.
Beaches and islands : Koh Nang Yaun contains of three small islands connected by a "double sided" white beach in the middle. On the middle island, which also is the smallest, you will find the Nang Yuan Dive Resort. You can easily book a room on this resort online below.
When to go? : The climate here is tropical and usually rather pleasant all year, but it might rain a little more from September until November due to the monsoon.
Getting there : If you are going from Koh Samui, it is easy to go here by a catamaran or a ferry via Koh Tao. If you are coming from the main land by train etc, go to Chumpon and from there a boat to Koh Tao. The Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran for example. From Koh Tao there are several departures every day.
What to do? : Relaxation and water sports is probably two fair answers to this question. Diving and snorkeling is great here with many good diving sites; Twin Peak, White Rock and Green Rock. There are also other activities such as rock climbing (be very careful though), kayaking and canoeing available on Koh Nang Yuan.
AnG Thong Marine National Park This national park comprises around 40 islands covering 250 square kilometres. The islands rise from the sea in limestone cliffs. A number of small peaceful bays and tiny coves. Also numerous small beaches. The biggest attraction here is the emerald saltwater lake called Talay Noi (Small ocean) on Koh Mae Ko. The lake is in the middle of the island and requires a strenuous climb. The park is perfect for snorkelling. Lots of day and half-day excursions to choose from.
